The Prettiest Collar

  • The Prettiest Collar was first published in the late 1930s and is described as a 'bewitching design knitted in a lacy stitch'. This all-over lacy stitch is counter-balanced with dramatic 'sailor' collar which is gathered at the centre front to be worn with a decorative brooch. The elbow-length puff sleeves are slightly over-sized for further dramatic effect. The top is knitted in flat separate pieces then sewn together.

The Prettiest Collar is knitted using Susan Crawford Breeze, a fingering weight yarn created from Merino and Cotton with the perfect amount of sheen for this elegant party sweater.

The Prettiest Collar is shown here in shade Sky.

The pattern includes instructions for six sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 117cm (46in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with optional charted instructions for the Broken Leaf pattern plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
