Potter

  • The Potter cowl, inspired by the life and work of author Beatrix Potter, is a cosy textured cowl perfect for keeping you snug on a chilly day, with the double layer providing added warmth. The simple twist stitch - also used in the Beatrix vest - creates an intriguing surface pattern. The cowl is knit in the round and commences with a provisional cast-on to enable the work to be joined into a tube. As the main pattern is worked, needle sizes are changed to create shape without having to add or remove stitches.

Potter is knitted using Susan Crawford Barn a DK weight, worsted spun yarn that is delightfully smooth and soft, created from a blend of Jacobs and Shetland fibres spun exclusively for us in a nearby Yorkshire mill.

Potter is shown here in two colour ways.
    Colourway One uses shade:
    Puddle.

    Colourway two uses shade:
    Plum Jam.

Samples shown in size 3 worn with 2.5 cm / 1 in positive ease (on Ruth) and with 7.5 cm / 3 in negative ease (on Susan).

The pattern includes instructions for one size and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for cable pattern.
