Diamond Kite

  • Diamond Kite is a striking pair of colourwork socks featuring a repeating motif and a contrasting heel and toe. You can choose from the two lengths: a low calf or a boot-length sock. The socks are knitted from the top down with a twisted rib cuff and an hourglass heel. The foot is adjustable for length. The Diamond Kite socks were inspired by a song of the same name by Kate Bush - one of Susan's heroes from her youth. The small diamond motifs represent tiny kites.

Diamond Kite is knitted using Susan Crawford Bluem Sock, a fingering weight yarn, worsted spun with a high twist making it perfect for socks. The Bluefaced Leicester yarn is a soft but resilient fibre and combined with a small amount of nylon, it creates the perfect fabric for socks. The yarn shows off texture, cables and lace to great effect and the fibre combination takes colour beautifully.

Diamond Kite is shown here in two colour ways.
    Colourway One uses shades:
Dungarees, Lime Mortar, Night Sky and Foggy Morning.

    Colourway two uses shades:
